Zoe and Aaron’s wedding at Wasing Park was one of those days that perfectly sums up British weather completely unpredictable, but somehow it all came together at just the right moments.
As a Wasing Park wedding photographer, you get used to working in all conditions, but this day really had everything. Within the space of a few hours, we experienced snow, rain, wind and even bursts of bright sunshine. It kept everyone on their toes, but it also made the day feel even more memorable.
Wasing Park is a stunning wedding venue in Berkshire, known for its beautiful barn, elegant grounds and relaxed atmosphere. No matter the weather, it always offers incredible backdrops for natural, documentary-style wedding photography and Zoe and Aaron’s day was no exception.
A Day Full of Emotion
From the very start of the day, there was a real mix of emotions. The morning was filled with excitement and anticipation, but also some emotional moments as Zoe got ready with her closest friends and family.
As the ceremony began, those emotions really came through. There were plenty of tears, smiles and laughter shared between Zoe and Aaron, as well as their guests. These are always the moments I focus on most the real, genuine reactions that can’t be staged.
Wasing Park’s ceremony space creates such an intimate atmosphere, and it really allowed those moments to stand out. You could feel just how important the day was to everyone in the room.
Four Seasons in One Day
If there’s one thing that stood out about Zoe and Aaron’s wedding, it was definitely the weather.
At one point we had sleet falling, shortly followed by rain and strong winds, before the sun decided to make an appearance. It could have easily been stressful, but instead everyone embraced it, and it actually added a unique energy to the day.
One of the best moments came straight after the ceremony.
The rain had been coming down, but just as everyone gathered outside, it stopped at the perfect time for the confetti. Guests lined up, the atmosphere lifted instantly, and Zoe and Aaron walked through a full confetti moment with nothing but smiles and laughter.
Then, almost as if it had been timed, the rain started again as soon as it finished.
Moments like these are always some of my favourites to capture, full of genuine reactions and energy — something I also experienced at this Oakley Hall wedding earlier this year.

Golden Hour at Just the Right Time
Later in the day, I stepped outside to check the weather and noticed the light had completely changed. After everything we’d had earlier the snow, rain and wind we were suddenly treated to the perfect golden hour.
Straight away, I went to find Zoe and Aaron, knowing how good the conditions were. As I went to the reception area to find them they had disappeared. The anxiety started to kick in as I didn’t want them to miss this opportunity for some quality photos with amazing lighting. Thankfully I found them having 5 minutes to themselves and when I told them about the sunlight they were keen to get out and get some more photos.
We headed out for a few relaxed couple portraits, making the most of the soft, golden light around Wasing Park. After such an unpredictable day, it felt like everything had finally aligned for that perfect moment.
Those golden hour photos ended up being some of my favourites from the day natural, relaxed and full of warmth. It was the ideal way to round off a wedding that had already delivered so many memorable moments.
A Proper Celebration
As the evening went on, the energy didn’t drop. The laughter continued, the dance floor filled quickly, and the celebrations carried on into the night.
What stood out most about Zoe and Aaron’s wedding at Wasing Park was how everyone just embraced the day no matter what the weather was doing. From emotional vows to confetti in perfect timing, to chasing golden hour light, it was a day full of real moments.
And that’s exactly what wedding photography should be about.
